Court dissolves 4-yr-old marriage over talkative wife

An Ilorin Area Court  has  dissolved the four-year-old marriage between one Dayo Adeoye and his wife, Kemi, on the ground that the latter is a talkative. Dayo, 39, a resident of Offa Garage area of  Ilorin, had told the court that his wife was gregarious and could not keep secrets. The petitioner told the court that his wife was a ‘talkative’ and was often  revealing all her marital secrets  to friends. “My wife cannot keep any secret because she will reveal it  to her so called  friends who  will only mock her behind,” he said. The petitioner told the court that their marriage was contracted in 2010 and was yet to produce any child. “I want an end to this marriage because I cannot continue with someone who will expose all my plans to the external parties  through her talkative habit,” he added. The defendant did not, however, object to the prayer of  her husband and asked the court to grant it. “I think a problem shared  is half solved and that is the reason I prefer seeking for advice from friends when necessary,” said the defendant. The presiding judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved the  marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff. Source : Punch
