A 32-year-old man, identified as Babangida Sule who resides in Maisamari Nguroje Ward of Sardauna local government area of Taraba State has been reportedly killed his father, Sule Marwa, on Wednesday, for refusing to approve his engagement to the lady he wanted to marry. The FRSC Corps Marshal, Mr Osita Chidoka, on Friday said the agency's June 30 deadline for all motorists to change over to new number plates would not change. The Corps Marshal told newsmen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom that it would be a criminal offence for anybody to refuse to change over to the new number plate after June 30. Chidoka, who was represented by FRSC's Zone F Commander, Mr Nsebong Akpabio, said it would be punishable by the Federal Road Safety Act 2007 and the Highway Act of 1972 "The area we want members of the public to know is that June 30 is the deadline for full compliance. Scientists at Johns Hopkins have managed to repeat what is now known as one of the biggest medical breakthroughs - they have cured the second baby born to an HIV-positive mother. This news was announced during a Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Boston. On March 5th, 2014, the doctors announced that they have been able to clear the virus from another baby, infected with HIV from a mother with advanced AIDS, who had not been taking any medication. The agressive treatment was started just 4 hours after the girl was born and the virus was already undetectable in 11 days. Usually, aggressive treatment is not used until the doctors make sure that the baby is infected which most of the times takes a few weeks. Nigerian football legend and founder of the Kanu Heart Foundation, KHF, Nwankwo Kanu recently underwent a corrective heart surgery at the Cleveland Hospital Ohio, USA, Vanguard reports The surgery was carried out during one of his normal yearly routine medical checks at the hospital following the 1997 heart surgery at the same hospital. The source also said the family had constituted a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his release. An Abuja Magistrates' Court has ordered that a 23-year-old commercial sex worker, Charity Achibong, be remanded in prison for biting off her lovers tongue. Achibong of Jabi village, Abuja, appeared in court on a one-count charge of causing hurt contrary to section 245 of the Penal code. The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Clement Egwu, said that one Mr Ephraim Okoronkwo reported the accused on July 9, at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja. He said that the complainant and the accused had a misunderstanding and heated argument in his room on the day of the incident. Egwu said that the accused jumped on the complainant in the midst of the argument and bit off his tongue. He added that the accused tried to run away but was apprehended by a security man nearby.
