Suarez Ban: FIFA leaders are ‘sons of bitches’— Uruguay president

Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica has slammed FIFA leaders as “sons of bitches” for banning the country’s star striker Luis Suarez over his infamous World Cup bite. Mujica called the four month ban on all football activity imposed on Suarez for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini “fascist sanctions”. The president made the comments to a state-run TV sports show which asked Mujica his opinion of the World Cup as he welcomed the defeated Uruguayans on their return from Brazil late Sunday. “Those at FIFA are a gang of old sons of bitches,” Mujica said. He gasped and put his hand to his mouth in an I-can’t-believe-that-I said-that manner, but smiled. The journalist asked if he could publish the remark. “For my part, sure,” Mujica shrugged. “I support the president’s remarks,” added his wife, Senator Lucia Topolansky, who was stood next to him. “They could have sanctioned him,” said Mujica, a 79 year-old ex-guerrila, “but not with fascist sanctions.” Suarez bit Chiellini during Uruguay

Like Mexico, Cameroon is likely to repeat the starting 11 of its last friendly, a 2-2 draw against Germany. Veteran captain Samuel Eto’o is still the focal point of the attack, but is now playing as a true striker, and is not able to help as much in the creation of chances as in the past. Cecilia Ibru Goes To Court To Stop Seizure Of Properties

Ibru was served her six-month prison term in hospital bed in what was described as a mockery of the plea bargain agreement reached with the prosecutor, which involved her losing over N190 billion and over ninety luxury properties in different parts of the world. Her lawyer, Ade Okeaya-Inneh on Tuesday, sought an interim order to restrain the government from implementing the forfeiture agreement. The Judge has adjourned till June 23 for hearing of the objection and the substantive suit.

Jonathan can’t stop corruption except – CAN

The Plateau State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Soja Bewarang has said it will be difficult for President Goodluck Jonathan to curb or eradicate corruption in the country except every citizen gives his/her support in the fight. Rev. Bewarang noted that corruption is sin and conquering corruption means eradicating sin which is not possible as long as man lives on the earth. Speaking yesterday in Jos with Vanguard in an interview, the CAN Chairman said if every citizen be it a farmer, teacher, business person, politician takes a bold step and say no to corruption, the scourge will be curbed and the country free from it. He said, “As long as man lives on the earth, sin will continue to exist and corruption is sin. If each Nigerian would say no to corruption in the farm, in the classroom, in business, in the market, if we will all take a position and say to ourselves; I will not be corrupted, neither by giving or receiving bribe, we will overcome corruption.
